Project Details
MMC O&G provide detailed design engineering services for the WP-PA platform located approximately 49km offshore Bintulu Sarawak, within the development Blocks SK 309 and SK 311, which was successfully loaded out in March 2003, with operation commenced by June 2003.
Period: 11/2001 – 8/2002
Weight: Topside – 250MT exclude structure
MMC O&G was appointed by Murphy Sarawak Oil Co. Ltd in November 2001 to provide detailed design engineering services for the WP-PA platform. The platform is located approximately 49km offshore Bintulu Sarawak, within the development Blocks SK 309 and SK 311. This is a marginal field development, with a designed life of 10 years. Hence, the platform was designed as a ‘Fit for Purpose’ usage with minimum facilities. A burn down philosophy is adopted for the design.
The WP-PA platform is an unmanned platform (with limited planned day trips), and supported by a four (4) legged jacket. The main process system was designed to a liquid handling capacity of 15,000 bpd. The platform production process consists of Production Wellheads, Water Injection Wellheads, Gaslift, Test /HP/LP Separator and Crude Transfer pumps. Provision is provided for the installation of Gaslift compressor in the future.
Utility systems provided on the platform are the Fuel Gas system, Produced Water system, HP/LP flare, Open/Closed drains, Compressed Air system, chemicals, diesel, nitrogen distribution and potable water systems. No Fire water pumps are provided, but a firewater ring main is available which will be pressurized by the drilling rigs during drilling/workover activities.
13,400 man-hours were utilized for the Detail Design up to AFB and a further 2,500 man-hours was expanded for the AFB to AFC package. The AFC package was successfully delivered to Murphy on August 2002, with the fabrication done by HL Engineering in Lumut.
